It Snowed!

It rained all day long and stayed in the upper 30’s.  They kept predicting snow, but I had about given up hope.

Around 5 pm the rain got heavy and then all of a sudden snow flakes started mixing with the rain.

Pretty soon the flakes became larger and larger until they were those big huge fluffy snow flakes!

I don’t know when the last time south Georgia got snow, but the last time I saw snow was in Tampa in 1977.

It snowed pretty hard for about an hour and it was sticking to the ground pretty well.

I was hoping the entire ground would have been white, but it has stopped snowing so it appears this was it!

Karen, somehow your snow looks pretty (esp. on the pics with red in).

However, our two feet of snow is NOT so pretty that we got this past week in central PA. All we got done was plowing, shoveling, sweeping, making and remaking paths to the barn and bird feeders, etc. Oh well, spring is on it's way - sooner or later!

Connie,
I was hoping for a little more snow that would completely cover the ground. It was so warm when it was snowing that once the snow quit (in about an hour), it melted and was all gone by bedtime!

I really enjoyed it though. Too bad hubby was out of town and didn't get to see it!

I certainly wouldn't want the kind of snow you're having, 2 feet is too much! Hang in there...spring is coming!

Congrats on snow in GA. What a winter this has been for everyone. I remember winters in PA as a kid and all of that shoveling my dad did - no way would I want to live there now. PA is beautiful state, but I don't miss that snow.
