Al had wanted to go camping this weekend but I hurt my back and have been laid up for 2 days. Al had some left over pain pills from his rotator cuff surgery. I took some Mephergin while waiting for the doctor to call me in a prescription. The Mephergin made me extremely sleepy but helped. I was at least able to get up and walk to the bathroom. My doctor prescribed strong Ibuprofen and Flexeril. I am sensitive to drugs so as a precaution I only took 1/2 of the Flexeril..Thank goodness! It knocked me out, made me dizzy and extremely nauseous when I stood up. I decided to just take the Ibuprofen and see how I did. The pain is much better and I'm not feeling dizzy, nauseous, and irritable.

Can't do much around here, but sit with my heating pad. Maybe we should go camping anyway???

Mockingbird Hill Campground-our house

P1010159  P1010096

Our new “campground” at home.  It’s a little ways from the house up on a hill.  We’ve named it Mockingbird Hill Campground.  Al has permanently mounted a satellite dish, we have fresh water, 50 amp service, and a dump station.  It is relatively private and there is a beautiful view of the green lawn and pasture.  Of course in the winter the view will be brown. The dump station is an old septic tank and is a few feet in front of where the motor home is parked. We either need a longer hose or we have to move the motorhome up to dump.  It’s not a big problem because normally we dump when we go camping.  We did take advantage of the home dump site to rinse out the blackwater tank.  We never seem to be able to have time at the dump station.

We actually camped 2 nights in the site.  It happened that we got a rare July cold front, and about 7pm I realized it was going to be a cool night and a good one for camping.  We would never have been able to get to a campsite if we had to drive to one, but this was perfect.  We were able to open the bedroom window, turn on the fantastic fan and suck the air out, bringing the very cool air into the bedroom window right by our bed!  It was wonderful sleeping and we actually woke up the next morning and had to scrounge up some sweats.

Our favorite kitty “Squeaky” got to go camping too.  She loves to camp.

We are having another cool front this weekend and if we don’t go back to Tampa, we may spend tomorrow night there.

Cottonwoods starting to bloom

I have seen a few blooms on the Cottonwood Trees. They have the prettiest large blooms and will bloom until the first frost. I wish I could get them to bloom earlier in the summer, it seems they just get into full bloom when the frost gets them.

97 Degrees

It's hot and humid. A typical south Georgia day. We're about got the lawn all mowed of course it's time to start all over again.

We may take our little boat out tomorrow. We were spoiled in Tampa there were so many places to go both fresh and salt water that were fairly close. Here, it is so far to the beach and we're not overly impressed with the places we have found for beach kayaking or boating. We'll decide tomorrow whether or not to go boating. The heat is stifling.

Al planted a few pumpkins. I had been wanting some for the fall. We may decide to plant a fall garden. I would like some broccoli, snow peas, lettuce and maybe some winter squash. The only problem is getting all the weeds our of the current garden~

Rain, Rain, Rain

It seems it's either drought or raining all the time. We have been getting frequent rain the last 4 or 5 days. It's been raining several times a day. The lawn is growing like crazy and we need to mow.
