Grits Cup

We have to head to Thomasville, and I have promised Al we would go to “Granddaddy's”.  It’s a barbeque restaurant, but they have a great breakfast menu.

Here in south Georgia, a grits, or breakfast cup is quite common.  It’s a great quick breakfast. It’s a cup of grits, you then add chopped bacon or sausage, egg and cheese.  It’s wonderful!  Granddaddy’s has the best ones in town and they are only $2.99.

Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful sunny day and in the mid 60’s.

After breakfast, we’re coming home to continue ripping carpet out of the motor home.  It’s a tough job for us old people!

Karen, your grits or breakfast cup sounds yummy! When we eat at Cracker Barrel, I mix apple butter with the grits. Lately, here at home, I've been adding apple butter to my plain oatmeal - hmmm -a much better taste!

Connie

Apple butter in oatmeal sounds good, but I'm not so sure about putting in in with grits :)

Karen, try it sometime. It is good! I could never eat grits before until I added some apple butter to it. Connie

I love Cracker Barrel grits but never thought of adding other food to them. I love apple butter but probably not in my grits. I'm one of those weird people who doesn't like to mix food together, I don't want it touching other food, and I prefer to eat one food item at a time. Geez, I suppose there's a medical diagnosis for that craziness.
